Set up SMS with DLT
Register your entity, headers and templates on DLT, connect MSG91 and import your approved templates so every SMS matches one.
Updated 5 Oct 2026
What you need
- Permission to manage channels (Owner or Admin by default)
- Your company registered on a DLT portal (Jio, Airtel, Vi or BSNL) with approved headers and templates
- An MSG91 account and a prepaid SMS wallet in PropZolo
In India, every business SMS must be sent from a header (sender id) and match a template registered on a DLT portal under your company’s principal entity. PropZolo checks every message against your approved templates before it goes out, so nothing is blocked by the operators.
Before you start: DLT registration
On a DLT portal (Jio, Airtel, Vi or BSNL — one registration works for all operators):
- Register your company as a principal entity (PE). You get an entity id.
- Register headers — six-letter sender ids such as
PRPZLO. Promotional headers are numeric. - Register content templates — the exact text with variables, each tied to a header and a category (promotional, transactional, service implicit or service explicit).
Connect PropZolo
Settings → Communication → SMS & DLT:
- Principal entity — enter the entity name, the principal entity id and your MSG91 auth key.
- Headers — add the sender ids registered on DLT and choose a default sender.
- Templates — export your approved content templates from the DLT portal as CSV and import them. Each SMS PropZolo sends must match one.
- Delivery reports — copy the delivery report URL and inbound SMS URL into MSG91, so delivery status and STOP replies reach PropZolo. The URL carries a secret and is shown once.
Sending
Agents send SMS from a lead or the inbox by picking a template; automations, follow-up plans and broadcasts use them too. Promotional SMS go out only between 10:00 and 21:00 and need consent (or an enquiry in the last 7 days) — see Consent, DND, quiet hours and the TRAI 7-day window.
